Belgians can since Wednesday morning, a Spotify account. That the streaming-music service its doors this week in Belgium lwa would go open, it was already expected. In the Netherlands the service is already a year and a half available.
Beginning of this week it appeared all the messages in the media that Spotify are the services this week in three European countries, including Belgium, would start. That appears correct: Tuesday, opened Spotify its doors in Austria, and today are Belgium and Switzerland on the turn, reports the company. The subscription terms are in Belgium the same as in the Netherlands: in addition to a free version of which the maximum number of luisterminuten after a half-year is limited, there are a unlimited and premium subscription of respectively 5 and 10 euros per month.
Spotify has not stated why it has lasted so long before it’s in Belgium, but probably were the negotiations with copyright holders difficult. That is also the reason that the Netherlands is relatively long, had to wait on Spotify. In the meantime the service here, however, already a year and a half available.
According to The Standard had Spotify plans to partner with a telecom provider, such as in the Netherlands with KPN, but the deal would be afgeketst. Went isp Belgacom to collaborate with competitor Deezer. Spotify wants to in the future open its doors in Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong.
