Lenovo want laptop with instant Android-mode on the market

Lenovo is planning to introduce a laptop on the market where users from Windows can switch to Android mode. With this mode, which is probably intended for multimedia, the battery life will be doubled.

The laptop is in terms of hardware, similar to the Thinkpad X1, which the company previously published, so reports The Verge. The new, as yet unannounced Thinkpad X1 Hybrid, however, is support for an Android-mode.

Although many details are still missing on the Android mode, it is known that it is intended would be for internet and multimediagebruik. It doesn’t seem to go to a standard installation of Android: Lenovo has its own skin developed.

The manufacturer supplies its Thinkpad X1 currently with 13.3″screen and a maximum resolution of 1366×768 pixels, whereby there can be chosen between Sandy Bridge Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 processors. The work laptop runs Windows and has a battery life of 5 hours. The Hybrid model would, in the Android mode, up to 10 hours can endure. The Thinkpad X1 Hyrbid would later this month be released.
