HP has its first ultrabook announced: the Folio 13. The thin laptop has a 13.3″screen, is 18mm thick and weighs 1,49 kg. It is powered by an Intel Core i5 or i7 cpu combined with 4GB ram and a 128GB ssd.

HP, with its first ultrabook, especially on the business user, reports the company. The manufacturer claims that the Folio 13 of all the ultrabooks have the best battery life: a single charge would be the notebook nine hours must be able to work. In addition, the company does not skimp on connections, the Folio 13 has to the left a ethernet port, sd card reader, usb 2.0 port and a hdmi output. On the right side are a usb 3.0 port and headphone jack are placed.

The ultrabook has a chiclet keyboard that is equipped with a backlight. Under the buttons is a touch pad placed where the mouse buttons by thin lines can be distinguished, comparable with earlier notebooks of the company. The touchpad has support for multitouchgebaren. The 13,3″screen has a resolution of 1366×768 pixels and is of the Brightview type, although HP is not free to decide how bright the screen actually is.

HP the Folio 13 in different configurations, with Core i5 and Core i7 processors, starting at 899 dollars. The ram is 4GB big, and all the data is on an ssd of 128GB is stored. There will also be a model with a tpm-module integrated hardware-based encryption of files. What configurations are come to the Netherlands and what this cost is currently not known.
