Google works in a secret lab for experimental technology

Google operates in the U.S., a secret research lab, where the research of new technology. In the ‘Google X’lab would have several ex-employees of large it companies and universities research in robotics.

Reports that The New York Times. Google would take great effort to the existence of the onderzoekstak to keep it a secret. The headquarters would be located in the Bay Area around San Francisco, as a support department, which is on the Mountain View campus is located.

In Google X would be the internetgigant a number of leading scientists and software engineers have collected. At the head of the lab is Sebastian Thrun, a specialist in robotics and artificial intelligence, and known as the inventor of the first autonomous driving car. Thrun teaches computer science at Stanford university. Another prominent employee of Google X is also the Stanford-born professor Andrew Ng. He specializes in the application of neuroscience in systems with artificial intelligence.

Another researcher at Google X started work, Johnny Chung Lee. He until recently worked at Microsoft on the Kinect project, the contactless spelaansturing for the Xbox 360 console. Other employees would come from, among other Nokia Labs, MIT and the university of New York.

So would Google study whether it is possible to get the cars that the photographs for Google Streets shoot, term is unmanned to drive, it voortbordurende on his research project into autonomous driving cars.

Even though Google is officially not want to comment on the existence of a research laboratory, it would be known that a large part of the studied technology is highly experimental. There would even be looked at to assess the feasibility of a lift, an idea which in several places research is done.
