Foundation challenges KPN to court because pay per minute

The Stichting Meldpunt Collectief Injustice, KPN, on behalf of 157 customers sued because of the pay telephone calls per minute. It is the first time that a provider because of the pay per minute being sued.

KPN and Telfort introduced last year, the pay per minute, with a call of 1.01 minute on the bill as two minutes. According to SMCO is with some customers, the subscription is altered unilaterally, without the customer’s subscription should terminate. This right to cancellation is required. It would also be unclear for other customers per minute is settled, says Ferdy Soot from SMCO. “They have customers inadequately informed,” says Soot.

The case should be next month against KPN and its subsidiary Telfort, says Soot against Tweakers.net. “I expect a decision around the second quarter of next year.” The damage of the 157 plaintiffs would be ‘somewhere in the direction of 20.000 euro. It is a lawsuit become, because SMCO not with KPN came out.

Customers who join SMCO for the lawsuit, don’t do that without risk. There must be in each case a fixed amount to be paid as a ‘donation’ to the Foundation. If the case is won and KPN will be an amount off, a percentage to SMCO. Soot adheres more concerned with this kind of collective affairs. Previously threatened, he T-Mobile with a lawsuit; that matter is ultimately suitable in the appeal. Also he runs Loterijverlies.nl that he has a case against the state Lottery.
