Acer is rumored to be stopping with the brand name Gateway. Instead, it would be the Taiwanese company’s products business under the name Acer Business on the market. Acer took over Gateway in 2007.
The name change would be in the first quarter of 2012 coming in, and claims to The Registry from sources close to Acer learned. Acer took over Gateway in 2007 for an amount of 525 million euros. Gateway took later that year Packard Bell. Purpose of Acer at that time was explicitly for a multi-write strategy. Gateway would, however, be an unknown name in the market for business-to-business products, and therefore next year if Acer Business through life.
Acer the Netherlands reports Tweakers.net ‘no signals received’ about such a decision. Would Gateway earlier this year with its servers internally hosted by the Commercial division of Acer, and is centrally controlled, where previously a separate part.
Previously deleted Acer or the brand name E-ten. The group from Taiwan took the mobieltjesfabrikant in 2008, but brings smartphones now under his own name on the market.
