Intellectual Ventures patents is collected for court cases, Nikon has sued for breach of four on camera-related patents. Unknown is which Nikon-products infringing on the patents.
According to the indictment, on October 26, filed in the court in Delaware, Intellectual Ventures, founded by former Microsoft cto Nathan myhrvold who, already in 2008, try to make contact with Nikon for the exit of licenses on the patents, but Nikon has this request is chopped off.

Two of the patents have to do with the production of image sensors. Intellectual Ventures has to say more than 35,000 patents in its possession, of which about 3000 by our own scientists would be submitted. The rest would be purchased from inventors. Intellectual Ventures is because of his way of working is seen as a patent troll.
The company Lodsys, which lawsuits against Apple and Google has brought for infringement of patents with respect to in-app payments, it would have close ties with Intellectual Ventures.
