Panasonic announces Lumix GX1-m4/3-camera

Panasonic has officially launched the Lumix GX1-m4/3-ilc announced. The camera is equipped with an image sensor with 16 megapixels, and has a built-in flash and a distinctive grip. The Lumix GX1 is from december available.

The combination of image sensor and image processor makes it possible for 4.2 frames per second with a mechanical shutter, while with the reduced resolution and the use of an electronic shutter 20 frames per second are possible. The GX1 can in the most favourable case within 0,09 s focusing, and the camera has a new af mode on: AF Flexible, which after the half-press of the shutter button to continuously focus if the subject is in frame. The camera can have 1080/50i video with avchd recording with a sensoroutput 1080/25p.

The new compact system camera, seems to be what the basic design involves a lot of on the Lumix GF1, but has a deeper grip on the front. This is cast of resin and elastomer for a firm grip on the camera. The GX1 has a large number of controls, including a dedicated function key, and has two customstanden on the mode dial for a total of four personal camera settings.

Like earlier models, such as the Lumix GF2, GF3, G2 and G3, the GX1 includes a 3″touch screen with 460.000 subpixels. This makes it possible to in and out to zoom in combination with the Lumix G X Vario 14-42mm lens. The GX1 is also equipped with stereo microphones.

In addition to the GX1 was also a new electronic external viewfinder announced. The DMV-LVF2 has 1.440.000 subpixels, just as much as the VF-2-setup evf from Olympus, and significantly more than the current setup evf from Panasonic, with a resolution of 220,000 subpixels.

The GX1 is from december available, but a Dutch the suggested retail price is not yet known. In the United States, the camera 700 dollar cost for just the body, $ 800 including 14-42mm-kit lens and $ 1000 with the 14-42mm X lens.
