HP is divesting pc business due to high costs

The new director of HP seems short shrift to want to do with the plans of her predecessor. The company has announced its pc branch, however, will not repel, as initially the plan was. This would be more expensive to extract.

According to HP is out of a strategic review by the company itself proved that it is better for both customers and shareholders and staff for his so-called Personal Systems Group inboard to keep. “Together we are stronger,” said Meg Whitman, ceo of HP.

Although HP, in a statement stressed that the PSG division plays an important role in the product portfolio and overall brand value of the company, and that the division deeply interwoven in the company, it seems money is the deciding factor. The research has also shown that the rejection and proceed independently to let go of PSG as a company, the more expensive would be to extract than the division simply maintain.

Whitman, who in september, Léo Apotheker as ceo, succeeded, gave earlier this month already in the short term, a decision to want to take over the future of the company. She wanted the turmoil away that had arisen after the HP at the end of August announced that the pc department might be wanted to repel.

The reason for this decision would be the disappointing revenue from the sale of consumer pcs. Pharmacist cut off, however still no knot and also a deadline has not yet been determined. HP decided, as a result of the messy turn Pharmacist aside and replaced by Whitman.
