Asrock introduces matx-X79-motherboard

Asrock has its product portfolio X79 motherboards for the next generation of Core processors from Intel suggested. E lwa n board is a matx motherboard, which despite its small dimensions a full-fledged platform should offer.

The Asrock X79 Extreme4-M motherboard is a smaller version of the Extreme4 board which is also the company introduced. The compact motherboard measures just 240 by 240 millimeters and is home to Intel’s huge lga2011 socket is surrounded by four memory slots. A power supply with eight phases provides the power and there are three pci-express x16 slots available. A single pci slot is missing, either.

The board also features six sata ports, two sata-600 ports are carried out. Through a header, two usb 3.0 ports on the system board and the i/o panel, there are two 3.0 ports. There are also a gigabitnetwerkpoort, audio jacks, six usb 2.0 ports, firewire and esata ports, and ps/2 connectors. The atx Extreme4 motherboard has three x16 slots and two pci slots. Furthermore, nine sata ports and four usb 3.0 ports.

In addition to the small board has Asrock’s X79 Extreme7 and Extreme9 motherboards in the pipeline. Both of these are atx boards, of which the former, remarkably, about six ddr3 slots, while the Extreme9 features eight. The ‘9’ has five pci-express-x16-slots, twelve sata ports, eight sata-600 ports, and eight usb 3.0 ports. The ‘7’ also has five x16 slots, a pci slot and ten sata ports, four sata-600. This board has six usb 3.0 ports, two gigabitnetwerkpoorten and six usb 2.0 ports on the i/o panel. Prices made Asrock is not yet known.
