Activision announces new Call of Duty for 2012

Activision has on the presentation of its annual results in a new Call of Duty game announced. He also made the Blizzard arm of the publisher announced that the membership of World of Warcraft further plummeted to 10.3 million players.

Activision shares on the presentation of its quarterly financial results that, in 2012, a new Call of Duty game will appear. Probably it is back to Treyarch to develop the game, after Infinity Ward was responsible for the on Tuesday, appeared Modern Warfare 3. Activision thinks within a year’s time a million paying premium members for the simultaneously introduced service Call of Duty: Elite. It was further known that there are Black Ops in Europe and the US, 15 million copies over the counter are gone.

The other half of the publisher, Blizzard, has had less positive news to report: the amount of members of World of Warcraft fell to 800,000 to 10.3 million players. With the expansion Mists of Panderia hopes Blizzard its membership to continue to maintain for both casual and hardcore players of the mmorpg enough innovation to offer. Blizzard has two new games on the schedule for 2012: Diablo 3 must be in the beginning of the year and StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm should be on a yet unknown date to follow.

Activision-Blizzard has in its third financial quarter, slightly better than expected performance. The revenue increased compared to the same period last year, with a percent to 754 million dollars. 57 percent of this came from digital sales. The expectations for the fourth quarter and fiscal year 2011 have been adjusted upwards to respectively 980 million and 4,33 billion dollars, of which Activision Blizzard’s best year in its history, intends to run.
