Project size: 420 hectares of land around the river basin of the “Las Delicias” in the district of Chapinero, Bogotá
Project budget: approximately 620.000 EUR
Project duration: 2009 to 2018

The ravine on the outskirts of bogotá used to be a wild garbage dump, is hardly imaginable today. In the meantime, visitors and tourists come here to admire the small natural oasis. But the Transformation is not limited to the nature and the water. An entire city district has been transformed by the environmental work. Because the people who have so far met with little attention, are closely involved in the project. Here nature meets street art; Conservation International is to provide role models, such as the Graffiti artist Danilo Ochoa, and especially to the fact that the people living around the restored water courses, in the long term, self-responsibility, for their own protection and for the protection of nature.
