EC: consumers should opt for the European sales law

The European Commission wants a voluntary European sales law to enter. The proposal must trade between member states easier and cheaper. Now run businesses estimated billions of euros of mis through national arrangements.

The European sales law, the national legislation does not replace, but provides an alternative on a voluntary basis. So consumers and suppliers in purchase to opt for the new type of contract. The rule has numerous national laws unnecessary, and, according to the commission, lead to lower prices. In addition, consumers on all products in advance for a period of several months.

The proposed rule, both within and outside the EU, provided that one of the parties in a member state. Therefore, the new rule will be especially interesting for web shops that, thanks to the internet easy the foreign market can enter. The European sales law, except for the sale of goods, also applies to digital files, such as music, movies and apps.

The member states and the European Parliament to the proposal from the European Commission has yet to approve. Commissioner Viviane Reding of Justice, however, expects no problems. According to her, gives the line a boost to the European economy. “It will take companies a simple and cheap way to offer it in new markets in Europe to be active while giving consumers better deals and a high level of protection.”
