Dell stops providing EMC hardware

Dell stops the supply of EMC storage products, as the company has announced. Existing customers are still supported. For ten years, the company delivered products to EMC under its own brand name.

The reseller contract that Dell EMC had would be in 2013 end, but now it has ended, reports PCWorld. Existing customers will still be supported, and can through Dell still, for example, upgrades of hardware to buy, but new systems are no longer provided. Up to now resulted in Dell under its own flag storage products from EMC.

Dell wants to focus more on his own storagelijn. Up until now fifty per cent of the revenue of Dell in the area of storage from EMC products. Dell sold under more midrange Clariion san array’s, in addition to more high-end systems. The end of the deal is a major setback for EMC, that 8 to 9 percent of their income from the Dell deal got.
