Chronology of the terror in France

Since the beginning of 2015 France has become several times the target of terrorist attacks with Islamist Background. As for the attacks, hundreds of people died. An Overview.

7. January 2015: The attack on the satirical magazine “Charlie Hebdo” to die in Paris of twelve people. To confess the attack was an offshoot of the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda. A third offender shoots a policewoman and in a Jewish supermarket hostages, of which he shoots four before he himself is killed by the police. 24. March 2016: investigators take a 34-year-old French firm and found in a rented apartment in the Paris suburb of Argenteuil, a large Arsenal of weapons, including five Kalashnikov assault rifles, a machine gun and explosives. According to the investigators, the detainees belonged to a terrorist network that was on the verge of a serious attack.

14. June 2016: A man stabs in Magna Ville in the Western outskirts of Paris, a police officer and barricaded himself in his house, where, later, the girlfriend of the victim was found dead. The police storm the building and shoot the offender that had been known previously to the IS. Against the Backdrop of the ongoing European football championship, a number of authorities had warned about the high threat of terrorism in France.

14. July 2016: The French national holiday of locking a man in the port city of nice with a Truck through a partying crowd. In the attack at least 84 people die, many more are injured. Whether the driver of the Truck had an Islamist Background, is still unclear.
