Kerber loses in Wimbledon final

Angelique Kerber needs to be in the final of the major tennis tournament Serena Williams beaten. The American celebrates the seventh Wimbledon title and equal the Grand Slam record list with Steffi Graf.

Angelique Kerbers dream of a second Grand Slam success burst. In the final, on the “Holy grass” of Wimbledon, the 28-year-old Australian Open winner lost against the US-American Serena Williams despite a strong performance in two sets 5:7 and 3:6. “I love to play against Angelique,” said Williams of their German opponent: “she is an incredibly strong player. I always have to play my best Tennis against you.” For the 34-Year-old it was the seventh Wimbledon victory and the 22 Grand Slam titles in her career. So Williams moved you into the “eternal” ranking with Steffi Graf.

Slight mistake at the crucial Moment

Kerber started in front of 15,000 spectators in the sold-out Centre Court, nervous in her first Wimbledon final. With your first serve of the game, you had to fend off three break balls. After this was done and you had been compensated to 1:1, was the German number one calmer and more concentrated. First of all, you had no more trouble on her serve. Defendant Williams was, however, no nakedness. The world rankings suggested ACE to ACE and went with the 6:5 lead. It smelled of a Tiebreak. But, of all things, then Kerber made EN route without the Need of two minor errors. Williams had two set of balls and used the second to the 7:5-set win.

Done! Serena Williams celebrated her 22. Grand-Slam-Title

Sign of desperation

In the second round, Kerber put on it even more, risked everything, and forced Williams to show her best Tennis. When the score was 3:3, and serve, Williams, the German had her first break ball. But the American answered with two aces in the series and won the game. Kerber signaled with a hand gesture: What should I do? She lost her next service game to 3:5, again after a slight error. Williams hit to win the Match and won this game to Zero. The first match ball sat, and Williams fell in front of joy on the grass of Wimbledon. “You’ve earned the title” turned to Kerber at the presentation ceremony at Williams. “We played a great final.”
