Found bones are from Peggy

After DNA comparison, the last doubt, in the case of Peggy eliminated: in a forest in Thuringia, found bones of the missing schoolgirl. Now the search for the culprit takes on a new journey.

After the analysis of the DNA material by the legal medical Institute of the University of Jena, the investigators are now taking a decisive step further. A mushroom was found in a wooded area between Thuringia and Bavaria, parts of the skeleton, which are clearly in the body of a nine years old missing girl. As to the possible cause of death, the Prosecutor’s office in Gera wanted to make, however, no information, not even to a plurality of objects, found by the investigators, apparently in the vicinity of the bone. The case will now be handed over to the public Prosecutor in Bayreuth, the determined for years to the Disappearance of Peggy’s.

Peggy was not in 2001, of the school in the upper Franconian Lichtenberg – around 15 kilometers from the site of the bone removed after returning home. Extensive Searches have since failed. In 2002, the investigators had presented a mentally retarded man as a suspect. The alleged perpetrator was convicted in 2004 as Peggy’s murderer. In 2014, there was a retrial, in which the man was acquitted.
