Dutch armed forces will also go digital warfare

The Dutch armed forces will receive in January 2012 a new part. A “digital taskforce” charged with the conduct of a cyber-war against opponents, when needed. The netherlands gets a new Cybersecurity Center.

According to The Telegraph Hans Folmer lead the digital taskforce. The krijgsmachtonderdeel is charged with attacking the computer opponents, but a precise description of the tasks was not given. From January 2012 the new krijgsmachtonderdeel are active and can be used. The service could, among other weapon systems of opponents through the computer should be able to disrupt.

In addition, the government in January, the National Cybersecurity Center have set up. This organ is used by the government to obtain advice on ict matters. Also informs the organization of threats and incidents to the government. In the council of the organisation includes senior executives from companies, such as KPN ceo Eelco Blok.
