“SPEC declares SPECjbb 2013-benchmark scores are invalid because of a bug”

The Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation, or SPEC, has detected an error in its SPECjbb 2013-benchmark software. The error can be a high SPECjbb score yield. The scores of the benchmarksuite for that reason by SPEC will be void.

The SPECjbb 2013-benchmark software is in use for the test servers. To do this, the performance of Java code is measured. The software since January of last year on the market, but the developer SPEC reports, however, that it is a disturbing error in the benchmark software has found. The bug in the so-called partial purchase request-test item may be a too high score result, thus making a fair comparison is not possible.

SPEC has after discovery of the bug decided to SPECjbb 2013 not longer to sell. Also the upload of benchmark scores is no longer possible and existing scores are regarded as unreliable. SPEC says to a bugfix to work. Licensees of the SPECjbb 2013-suite will, in due time, a free update get.
