There is a video appeared of a prototype of an LG smartwatch running webOS. Car manufacturer Audi used the watch during a demonstration, in which the user a self-propelled car started with the help of the smartwatch.
The smartwatch has a circular design and looks similar to the previously published G Watch R with Android Wear. Striking design elements are the three buttons on the side, of which the middle one acts as a home button.
LG and Audi made nothing known about the watch, but Android fansite AndroidCentral might be with an Audi employee, play with the software and shot a video of the interface, which is clearly under Info to see is that the watch runs on webOS.
The displayed interface shows very different elements than Android Wear. So there are in the main menu shortcuts to the apps with names such as E-mail and Calendar. Also is there a Remote Shutter app is present, probably of the order of the connected phone to take a photo. In addition, there are various South Korean apps in the main menu, one of which bears the name of U+, the mobile provider under the flag of the South Korean company.
WebOS smartwatch probably has support for a sim card. In the Settings menu is an entry for an imei number to see. The model number, W120L, popped up in a rumor in June last year, as a smartwatch with its own sim card slot. Also wifi seems to be on the watch to sit. The name used in the Settings-menu is ‘LG-W’.
The W120L runs just like the earlier G Watch R and G Watch on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400-soc from Qualcomm. The manufacturer leaves nothing about a possible release for the smartwatch with webOS.
