Samsung has with the Galaxy A7, its thinnest smartphone yet shown. The A7 has a thickness of 6.3 mm, thinner than the 6.7 mm of the Galaxy A5 and Alpha. It is not the thinnest smartphone that, until now, has been announced.
The thinnest smartphone so far is the Oppo R5 with a thickness of 4.7 mm, 1.6 mm thinner than the A7. In the 6.3 mm thick casing of metal, Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy A7, a 2600mAh battery stopped. That is a slightly smaller capacity than the 2800mAh of the rechargeable battery in, for example, the Galaxy S5. The A7 has a 5.5″screen from Samsung’s own Super Amoled-line with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels.
The phone runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615-soc, an octacore with eight Cortex A53 cores. Samsung showed the A7 at an event in Malaysia, reports SoyaCincau. The phone falls in the same Galaxy A-series as the previously announced A3 and A5.
While the manufacturer, the Galaxy A7 just showed, it has the Galaxy Grand Max also announced. That device has a 5.25″screen with an unspecified ‘hd resolution’, likely to 1280×720 pixels. The processor is a quad-core cpu at 1.2 GHz, which probably is going to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410, assisted by a ram of 1.5 GB. The phone has a 13-megapixel camera on the back, while Samsung has a 5-megapixel camera on the front. The phone is currently in South Korea for a price of only around 245 euros.
