“Razer announces compact Android TV console”

Razer at CES, the Forge TV announced, an Android TV running microconsole. Games on the Forge TV are playable with the optional Serval controller or the Razer Turret, a wireless keyboard with a gaming mouse.

The Forge TV will measure 105x105x17mm and is internally equipped with a 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 805-soc. The quadcore-soc contains an Adreno 420 gpu. There is 2GB of ram available along with 16GB of internal flash storage. For the wireless capture of connections is 802.11 ac-wi-fi and bluetooth 4.1 are available. Also includes the microconsole, a gigabit ethernet jack, an hdmi 1.4 output and a usb 3.0 port. The console will cost los 99,99 euro and still in the first quarter.

To games to to be able to send supplies Razer for 50 euro extra the Serval controller. Up to four controllers via bluetooth to the console. An extra controller will cost 79,99 euro. Another option that Razer mentions is the Turret-a keyboard with a separate mouse is included. This will cost 129,99 euro.

Razer also has Cortex: Stream announced, an application that makes it possible to from pc games to stream to a tv that the Forge TV is linked. The tool is not finished yet: in the autumn should have a beta available. Will the microconsole can handle the apps for Android TV and Google Cast is supported, allowing the device the same capabilities and have to get as a Chromecast dongle.
