“HP shows Workstation Ultrabooks with a thickness of 21mm”

HP has launched two new mobile ZBook workstations announced. The ZBook 14 and 15u respectively, a 14″ and a 15.6 inch screen are about 21mm thick and weigh between 1.7 and 2 kilos. The laptops are of the Intel Broadwell cpus and AMD FirePro gpu’s.

The mobile workstations of the second generation come in different configurations and with up to 16GB of ram and 1.25 TB of storage equipped. In the area of storage, there is the possibility of a HP Z Turbo Drive, or pci-e ssd to choose.

The ZBook 14 with ‘antispiegelend’ 14″-screen with an optional touchscreen and a maximum resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The processor is an Intel Core i5-5200U, and up to a Core i7-5600U. Both are fuel-efficient Broadwell cpus, where workstations are typically more powerful, less efficient processors may be provided. The video card is an AMD FirePro M4150 with 1GB of gddr5. The ZBook is 21mm thick and has a starting weight of 1,71 pounds.

The ZBook 15u has similar specifications, but does not have the touch screen option and the graphics card is a slightly more powerful AMD FirePro M4170. This so-called Workstation Ultrabook is 21,42 mm thick and weighs in its simplest configuration 1,91 kg.

Both laptops are equipped with business features as a connector for a docking station, a smartcard reader and a tpm chip. The ZBook 14 and 15U workstation coming in January available for, respectively, 1249 and 1199 dollars, what is in Europe including vat may translate into prices of about 1265 and 1215 euros.

Update, 10.45: HP the Netherlands to let you know that the ZBooks also in the Benelux from January available for a starting price of 1299 euros.
