Cyanogen has started the release of the nightlies of CM12 for the first aircraft. The new version of CyanogenMod is based on Android 5.0.1 Lollipop. Some features work however not yet.
Cyanogen supports a few dozens of devices with CM12, including devices from Google, Samsung, HTC and Oppo, it is apparent from the list that the company has put online. Not all features from CyanogenMod are working in these first nightlies. So is the ‘theme engine’ is not yet active and users can access the quick settings, not in order to adjust. Also the quick way of unlocking, allowing users, after entering not on ‘ok’ the need to print, does not work yet.
CM12 is a bit later than Cyanogen previously announced. CyanogenMod is the most popular custom rom for Android and has, according to the latest figures, more than ten million users. The firmware has the appearance of the Android release, as Google on its Nexus devices, but developers add their own functionality to it.
Update, 14:11: As P1nGu1n observes, is CM12 based on Android 5.0.2, not 5.0.1
