Belkin at CES show in Las Vegas several new home automation accessories in its WeMo line announced. Most notable is a water sensor which, according to Belkin accurately the use of water in the house.
The so-called WeMo Water with echo technology sensor can water lines be placed and is able to make changes in the pressure of the water to notice. According to Belkin can be set by using the sensor, the water consumption in a household per point of use accurately mapped, such as, for example, the shower in the bathroom or a washing machine. The sensor is not able, however, to the detection of a leakage, the water supply to close, but it can give alarm through the WeMo app.
In the WeMo line is Belkin also with new sensors on doors and windows can be placed. The sensors provide a signal if the magnetic field between the two parts is broken, for example when opening a door. Also new is the WeMo Keychain Sensor, a compact sensor that can be used for example to determine whether a person is whether or not the house has left. Other new accessories in the WeMo line are a alarmsensor for securing a home and a motion sensor based on infrared with a back-up battery.
To the various home automation accessories be more energy efficient to get the Belkin switched to the more efficient Zigbee protocol. It has a wi-fi-to-zigbee bridge to be released. The bridge can be connected to a router.
