“Amsterdam will start a big test with a traffic app, those files should reduce”

The municipality of Amsterdam, province of Noord-Holland and Rijkswaterstaat to start a trial with 10,000 users in an effort to reduce the traffic jams around Amsterdam to reduce. That should be via an app, in which users omleidingsroutes and alternatives to see if there is a file.

Not everyone gets the same information in the app ADAM. If there is only a single lane is open, get some users advice which route to just take, while the rest is an alternative. As a result, the files are less long.

The app has two sides. ADAM sends not only info about location and routes to the traffic information service, travelers both before and during the trip information about which routes are fastest, and how long the travel time is. ADAM promises privacy-sensitive data no longer than one year after the maturity of the project and to keep it.

The application is coming next week for iOS and Android. If the trial is successful, other municipalities and provinces of the concept also in other areas can apply.
