“Rumour: Microsoft is going with Windows 10, a new browser introduce”

Microsoft would plan to be in the release of Windows 10 and a new browser. It is, therefore, not a new version of Internet Explorer, a browser which, according to more rumors, such as Firefox and Chrome should feel like.

The rumors come from ZDNet, who tend to have reliable sources. According to Microsoft insider Mary Jo Foley has the still unreleased browser code-named Spartan, and it will use the existing Chakra javascript engine and Microsoft’s Trident renderengine that Internet Explorer be used. Spartan, whose final name is not yet determined, must be a ‘lightweight’ browser.

With Spartan, Microsoft wants a browser that has similarities with Firefox and Chrome, for example, the sources of ZDNet. This should include support for plug-ins or extensions need to come out. Despite the new browser seems the development of Internet Explorer to be continued. With the release of Windows 10 should probably be version 12 of the browser to come true, although, as ZDNet that the new OS initially with Internet Explorer-version 11 will be shipped.

Meanwhile, Microsoft would also work on a compatibility mode for the Trident renderengine, reports Neowin, on the basis of his sources. This would be built in to Internet Explorer 12, and so probably with the release of Windows 10 will appear. When the compatibility mode is requested, then an older version of the Trident engine to use more of the hardware requires. If the compatibility mode is not needed for the page rendering, than the newer and faster version of Trident to be deployed. This new version will probably also be used for the Spartan.

On January 21, Microsoft has the consumer version of Windows 10. A number of new features are demonstrated. It is unclear whether the new browser on the scene appears: according to ZDNet, is not sure if Spartan already functional enough to be shown.
