The Canadian smartphonemaker RIM would be working on a music service for BlackBerry users. The manufacturer would currently have with various major record companies to negotiate the necessary licenses.
That reports Cnet on the basis of sources that the negotiations would be. RIM will probably want to conclude contracts with the four major record companies Universal Music Group, Sony, Warner Music Group and EMI Music. With one of the four would already be an agreement have been reached, but it is not known which airline that is.
It is not yet clear how the service will look like, but RIM would intend to link to its popular instant messaging service BlackBerry Messenger.
