Corsair launches 90GB ssd’s in Force 3 and GT series

Corsair has both its Force Series 3 and Force Series GT line, a new solid state disk with a storage capacity of 90GB added. According to the manufacturer, going to be the world’s first 90GB ssds with sata-600-connectors.

Both ssds include a SandForce SF-2281 controller, but they use different types of nand-memory. The Force Series GT contains synchronous memory, while the Force Series 3 asynchronous memory is used. Therefore, the GT reading and writing speeds of respectively 555MBps and 505MBps pick up, while the Force Series 3 550MBps and 500MBps leave a note. Both drives get with random writes of 4k blocks up to 85,000 iops.

Corsair has in both series already 60GB and 120GB models, where the 90GB variants so just in-between position. The disks must be available immediately and are supplied with a 3.5″adapters. The Series 3 discs cost 159 $ each, the GT’s are going for $ 199 over-the-counter.
