Apple has applied for a patent for a system for the control of phones, tablets and laptops with gestures that cameras are observed. The interface of the devices is through a projector and shown.
The patent application describes a system in which different devices via a ‘picoprojector’ an interface on a surface projection. Then can those images be merged into a large image, or they can be used separately. Via gestures that are detected by cameras, for example, files are transferred by them from one form to the other screen to ‘wipe’.
The projections are true, then served with a Kinect-like controls, but in the patent application also states that the camera can operate by shadows on the projection to interpret as it is done with gestures on the screen itself. As a result, a swipe with a shadow, for example, mean that a list is scrolling. The invention can be used to show movies and pictures to display on the screen of a device, reports The Register.
Apple claims no patent on the mapping of an interface or the control thereof by means of gestures, but speaks specifically about the control of various devices with a projector and the merging of the images thereof.
The company from Cupertino does annually many patent applications, many of which are never used technique back in products. It is unclear whether Apple intends for this invention to be used in laptops, tablets, or phones, or when such products would come true. Currently, there are no Apple products with a picoprojector known.
