‘AMD is considering standard water cooling to deliver’

AMD would consider to be in its latest generation of processors, the soon-to-introduce FX-series cpus, the standard water cooling in place of an air-cooled heatsink. That would be the price is around 50 euros to increase.

AMD would think of a fully closed cooling system, such as the Asetek-developed cooler by Antec as the Kühler H2O 620 to be sold. In such a cooler is liquid with the help of an integrated pump through the copper heat sink circulated, after which the absorbed heat via a radiator with a 120mm fan is removed. The advantage of a completely closed system is the minimal lekgevaar for the user.

The Bulldozer processors would particularly benefit from the attention of a supplied water cooler brings with it. It is not clear whether the Bulldozers, such as the code name of the FX series goes, the additional cooling is actually needed. However, as the attention of gamers and overclockers can be drawn.

AMD would thus users to its platform want to pull away from Intel’s upcoming high-end Sandy Bridge E-series. In terms of performance would be the FX processors to compete with Intel, even without water cooling, should be able to handle. Incidentally, according to XbitLabs also Intel to consider the E-series Sandy Bridge processors including water to sell.
