The Norwegian supermarket chain Coop has decided several games from the shelves to pick up because of the attack last week in which dozens of people were killed. Among the games are titles that the perpetrator mentioned, such as Modern Warfare 2 and WoW.
The Norwegian supermarket chain came to the decision games from the shelves out of respect for the victims, writes the Norwegian local newspaper Rogaland Avis. During an attack of activist Anders Breivik came dozens of people. Breivik blew up a government building and shot dozens of young people down on a camp of the socialist party.
The supermarket is expected that other retail chains in Norway, the step will follow. How many games exactly, is unclear: among the 51 items from the shelves are gone are also toy guns. Not all violent games are from the range achieved. Some of the deleted games are World of Warcraft and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Breivik mentioned in his manifesto, among more MW2 as a game in which he has held to his attack to carry out.
It is unclear whether and when the games back up for sale in the supermarket chain. There is more often spoken about stopping the sale of violent video games. Or violent games lead to more aggression and violence is, however, still the subject of scientific debate.
