According to the well-known landscape photographer Thom Hogan, the Nikon D4 dslr ‘almost certainly’ this year available. The announcement takes place probably on 24 August, together with that of yet another dslr, probably the successor of the D700.
The current Nikon D3s, a dslr is for professional photographers, is now two years old, but the basic design of the camera is still the same as that of the original D3 dslr, which Nikon in August 2007 introduced. Rumors about a possible announcement of the successor of the D3s, the D4, are already doing a longer round, but Hogan says on the basis of Japanese sources now for “almost 100 percent sure” that the camera is still available this year for NPS Pro-members. The announcement is in accordance with Hogan probably planned on August 24.
Except the D4 expected Hogan in 2011 yet another Nikon-dslr will be announced. In contrast to the earlier prediction of the photographer that this is the successor of the D300s semi-pro dslr, go Hogan now from that it is the successor of the Nikon D700 dslr. Due to the success of the in August 2010 announced D7000-dslr would be the pressure on Nikon to with a replacement of the D300s-DX-camera, reduced. There would be room for the successor of the D700, like the D3s a dslr with a fullframe sensor. Also would Nikon than a direct counterpart to Canon’s 5D Mark II or the successor thereof.
Also Brian Peterson, photographer and author of fotografieboeken, is of the opinion that Nikon on August 24, the D4 and the successor of the D700 announces, as can be read on his Facebook page. According to Peterson, the two full-frame cameras have a sensor with twenty megapixels.
Hogan dares to have a number of other predictions. As would nikon’s mirrorless camera with interchangeable lenses in January at the CES trade fair in Las Vegas announced, as the successor of the D300s in February of 2012, it is expected.
