Zediva has the lawsuit that the MPAA against the company filed lost and have to shut its doors. The company rents movies by streaming from a physical dvd. Zediva intends to appeal.

The MPAA won Zediva early april for the court, because the association is of the opinion that the company is the copyright violation by films through a loophole in the law to rent out. The judge gives the joint studios are equal and ruled that Zediva’s doors must close. A spokesman for Zediva says that the company intends to appeal against the court ruling.

Zediva opened at the end of november, 2010, the doors and streams for a relatively low amount of films to his customers. The MPAA decided Zediva to complain, because the organization believes that Zediva copyrighted work to the public without having the rights to have.

For the ‘stream’ are the physical dvd and its player in the datacenter, Zediva rented out to one user – such as Zediva describes – the dvd player, then actually operate via the internet. The videostreamingdienst sets himself with its construction similar to traditional video stores, according to the service no rights are required to contribute to the Hollywood studios. The MPAA was did not agree and called the compared with a video only a ‘technical trick’.
