Vodafone launches own Facebook phone

Vodafone has a phone with Facebook button launched. The phone does not run on a smartphone operating system, but contains its own OS with Facebook integration. The device lacks connectivity options like 3g and wi-fi.

The device, which is made by Chinese electronics company TCL, has a physical keyboard, a Facebook button, which with a press of a button under more photos can be shared. The Vodafone Blue 555 is not a smartphone, but a so called dumbphone.

Things like 3g and wi-fi are missing on the device, it appears from the specs. However, it is a Palringo-chatapp present: that works with iChat, Facebook Chat and Google Talk. The unit is probably also in the Netherlands. A price is still unknown. The Vodafone 555 is after the HTC ChaCha and Salsa, the third phone with a physical Facebook button.
