The Californian company SocialApps has Zynga sued and claims that the latter is the source of FarmVille has stolen. Zynga would of had planned to myFarm of SocialApps to take over, before it FarmVille released.
SocialApps offers since november 2008, the game myFarm on Facebook and says that in may 2009 by Zynga is approached to the game to sell. According to SocialApps both companies then entered into an agreement for the source code of myFarm to sell. After the transfer of the code let Zynga didn’t hear, according to SocialApps, and brought Zynga on 19 June 2009 FarmVille.
SocialApps is looking for a compensation of at least $ 100,000 and a portion of the profits that Zynga has created FarmVille. SocialApps suspects Zynga there is also the stolen code was not only used for FarmVille, but also for titles like FrontierVille, CityVille and FishVille.
FarmVille is the most popular game of Zynga on Facebook. Zynga has a few weeks ago, registered for an ipo, where the company is at least a billion dollars hopes to pick up. The game designer is involved in various lawsuits about the ideas behind games. The lawsuit by SocialApps is the first accusation in the direction of Zynga that code is stolen.
