Sony enters the mid-decade market for ev batteries

Sony is going to li-ion batteries for electric cars produce. Sony expects this market to the middle of this decade to enter and has already developed a prototype. The batteries would also find their way into hybrid cars.

According to Sony its battery a long life, so that they will not soon need to be replaced. That makes them, according to the company ideally suited for use in electrically powered vehicles. According to Sony, there will in the future increasingly look at the total cost of an electric car over the entire lifetime of the vehicle.

The prototype of Sony’s li-ion battery is a flat version with a size of 257 at 182mm.
