Sony discontinues delivery MiniDisc walkmans

Sony has announced in september to stop the supply of walkmans that the MiniDisc format. The demand for the music players would have dropped. However, the company continues to loose fronds produce.

Currently, the MiniDisc walkmans are still produced, but after september will stores do with the remaining existing stocks should do. The production of MiniDisc discs, and audio systems with the discs are compatible, will still continue, writes nikkei.

The MiniDisc system in 1992, Sony introduced and makes use of small magneto-optical discs in a cassette are packaged. On the first generation of MiniDisc was 80 minutes of audio to be stored in the specially developed atrac codec. Later came Sony with other storage formats, allowing up to 320 minutes on a single disc, could be placed.
