Sandy Bridge-E-order no. and specs are known

A website has details of the next-generation Sandy Bridge E-series published. The processors are the high-end segment of the Sandy Bridge line and require a larger socket than the current series of processors.

According to the Turkish website DonanimHaber, which are regularly pre-release information spreads, will the cpu’s a significant performance improvement compared to the current cpu’s show. The Sandy Bridge processors, the E-series get six or four cores on board; the quadcores have a fixed multiplier, while a part of the hexacores Extreme Editions. In addition, the E-series processors on turbomogelijkheden.

The top model would be the Core i7-3960X. This hexacore should be a standaardkloksnelheid of 3.3 GHz, with a turbo to 3.9 GHz. The hyperthreading cores have joint decision about 15MB of L3 cache. The ddr3 memory with four channels at a time are addressed and the Sandy Bridge E-processor, a tdp of 130W.

The Core i7-3930 would be a step down position and a freely adjustable multiplier. The clock speed would be 3.2 GHz amounts, with a turbo to 3.8 GHz. However, it involves no Extreme Edition, but the hexacore is more comparable with the K-processors such as the Core i7-2600K from the regular Sandy Bridge series. Further, the amount of L3 cache of the cpu is reduced to 12MB.

The stock from the series would be named Core i7-3820 and a clock speed of 3.6 GHz, with turbo to 3.9 GHz. The amount of L3 cache would be 10 mb and the tdp is still 130W amounts. The socket for the E-series is not compatible with the current processor; the lga2011 socket has more pins because of the quadchannel-controller. Prices of the 32nm produced Sandy Bridge-E series are not yet known.
