Samsung has with the NC220 display, a monitor released that’s more or less ready to operate independently. The display is via a network connection to contact a server, allowing workstations simply decorated.
The SyncMaster NC220 display is equipped with Universal Power Over Ethernet or Upoe technology by Cisco is developed. With the technology, workstations can be arranged from only a monitor and input devices exist. A central server takes over the calculations for his own account. In addition, through the Upoe technology sufficient power to the display are provided; the cable can be 60W to the NC220 deliver.
The display is made by Samsung touted as ‘zero client’monitor and is in addition to the network connectivity feature of Samsung’s Led Blu technology. The 22″display with led backlight have a wide color spectrum display, but except for the ethernet connection are few known specifications. Also a price and launch date are missing for now.
Update 11.05: the NC220 features a 22″panel with an aspect ratio of 16:10 and a contrast ratio of 1000:1. The brightness amounts to 250cd/m2 and the maximum power consumption is 51W. The connections include, in addition to a gigabit network port, a D-sub connector, four usb 1.1 ports, audio jacks and a dvi output for a second display.
