Panasonic provides mobile, optical image stabilization

Panasonic announced in Japan the first mobile phone with an optically stabilized lensmodule released. The Lumix Phone P-05C is designed for the Japanese carrier Docomo. The phone was already announced in may, but is now available.

For the optical image stabilization does Panasonic using its Mega O. I. S. system. This detect gyros, the unwanted vibrations of the user, and shifts the lens in the lensmodule to these movements to compensate. The system leads to sharper pictures and the ability to use longer shutter speeds to work. There were already mobile phones with electronic image stabilization, but the software option is less effective than optical version of motion compensation.

With the P-05C photos with a maximum resolution of 13.2 megapixels. The image sensor used is of the cmos type. For the image processing is the MobileVenus engine used. This is a variant of the Venus engine that is in the Lumix series compact cameras, and m4/3 cameras used.

The Japanese mobile phone further supports dlna and has a My Color mode that allows graphical effects as miniatuuropnames, soft focus, pinhole and sepia as possible. The Lumix Phone P-05C is a sliderontwerp; by the screen slightly upwards, appears a numeric keypad. The touch screen is 3.3″ in size and has a resolution of 640 by 480 pixels.
