Oculus gives more details about virtualrealityfilm Henry

Oculus Story Studio, the animation studio of Oculus that focuses on the creation of virtualrealityfilms, has more details and a trailer of the animation film, Henry revealed. That video will appear in early 2016.

Henry is a hedgehog who very much loves to cuddle. When he is on his birthday, that he on his own celebrating, the candles on his cake blows out and silently wish for friends to cuddle, is his wish fulfilled. Henry is and remains, however, a hedgehog, and that makes hugging a bit difficult. That is where the short-virtual reality-animated film Henry about. It is one of the five of this kind of movies where Oculus Studio is working on.

In a blog post you can read that the people of Oculus Studio high bets on the emotional bond that may be created between the viewer and a character. According to Oculus Story, this can be as well reached in virtual reality because the viewer has a sense of being real in a scene, and when a character the viewer right in the eyes, they also have that character be able to see it as really existing.

At Oculus Studio work Inigo Quilez, who previously held the role of VFX Supervisor at animation studio Pixar. Moreover, it is the voice of Henry the hedgehog in spoken by Elijah Wood, known for the Lord of the Rings movies. Henry and four other virtual reality films will be included with the Oculus Rift in the first quarter of 2016. The movies will be made in Unreal Engine 4.
