MSI announces flat 14″laptops to

MSI has with the X460 and the X460DX two flat laptops with Sandy Bridge processors announced. The X-Slim laptops are put into a thin casing of a light metal alloy and have a diagonal screen size of 14 inch.

The new X-Slim models are less than two and a half inches thick, and have an appearance of brushed aluminum. The laptops do not weigh more than two pounds and would, with their zescellige batteries up to eight hours without the mains. Both laptops come with Intel Wireless Display technology, usb 3.0 ports, wi-fi and bluetooth 3.0. The 14″monitors to count 1366×768 pixels and led backlights.

The X460DX is a Core i5-2410M-dual-core with a clock speed of 2.3 GHz. The laptop gets 4GB of memory and a hard drive of 640GB. A GT 540M graphics card with 1GB of memory delivers graphics performance, although the Sandy Bridge gpu can be used. Windows 7 Pro is pre-installed. The DX will have a suggested retail price of 899 euros, and must of from August are available.

The top model, the X460, a quad-core processor on board; the Core i7-2630QM does his work at 2GHz, with a turbo up to 2.9 GHz. Also for this laptop is 4GB of memory available, but the hard drive is 500GB slightly less spacious than that of the DX. Also the video card is a bit slower. The X460 in addition to the integrated HD3000 gpu is an amd Radeon HD 6310 with shared memory on board. The list price of the quadcore laptop, which is also in August is to appear, amounts to 1019 euro.
