Manual Olympus E-P3 confirms new electronic viewfinder

In the manual of the new Olympus E-P3 m4/3 camera, which already can be downloaded from the Dutch site of the company, is a new electronic viewfinder is displayed. The VF-3-eff has a flash on board.

A picture of the new set-up-evf of the Olympus is shown in the accessoiresectie of the manual of the new E-P3 m4/3 camera on the Dutch and Swiss Olympus site. The company confirms the arrival of the new viewfinder. Strange is that in the English manual of the camera only mention is made of the current VF-2-viewfinder, while the E-P3-manual not yet available in German.

Earlier, the VF-3 is briefly shown in a short introductory film of the E-P3, which, together with the E-PL3 and the small E-PM1 on June 30, was announced. At the end of that movie is one of the new m4/3 camera models to see with a external viewfinder which is what shape and size is different from the current VF-2-viewfinder. The VF-3 is smaller and seems to be a flash on the front end. It is also a knob on the left side visible, which is perhaps intended for the diopterinstelling.

The new viewfinder like the VF-2 is turned upwards and has a button to switch between the display of the image on the evf and on the lcd. The VF-3 seems to be seen the smaller format of a cheaper little brother to the VF-2, with a lower resolution, and exhibits great similarities with the DMW-LVF1-evf Panasonic. This latter has a relatively low resolution, of 201.600 subpixels.
