Computer manufacturer Lenovo has introduced three new tablets announced. Two run on Googles Android operating system, while there is also a Windows 7 model. The tablets have a 10.1″screen with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels.
The consumer camera in Lenovo’s tabletfamilie is the IdeaPad Tablet K1. This Android tablet is powered by an Nvidia Tegra 2 soc, has 1GB of ram and 32GB of storage. Also, a micro-sd slot, dockingpoort and hdmi output.
To the front is a 2 megapixel camera and the back houses a 5-megapixel copy. The aluminum body is 13,3 mm thick and the device weighs 725 grams. Lenovo delivers approximately forty applications, which according to the company, for a total value of 50 euro.
With the ThinkPad Tablet, the company targets to own say in addition to consumers and even to business users. This Android tablet is tighter designed than the K1 and has looks a lot like the ThinkPad notebooks. The internal hardware is similar to that of the K1, but on the outside are differences to discover. So the screen is covered with scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass, and uses an ips panel for better viewing angles.
Beyond that, the ThinkPad Tablet features physical buttons at the bottom of the screen, and the device possesses a full-sized usb 2.0 port and an sd card reader. Video output is via a mini-hdmi output. Lenovo will also have a special stylus, the ThinkPad Tablet can be used. Also, it has a special sleeve designed with a built-in keyboard, that of a tracking point features.
On softwaregebied Lenovo has a few modifications done to the tablet more convenient to do business. So is there VPN software Cisco included, can stolen copies be traced and it is possible to have data in different ways to encrypt.
The IdeaPad Tablet P1 is equipped with Windows 7 and is powered by an unspecified processor from Intel at 1.5 GHz. Most likely it is the Atom Z670, which is specially for tablets intended. The multi-touch display can be used with the fingers as with an optional stylus to be operated. The P1 is 14.5 mm thick and weighs a little less than 900 grams.
Lenovo announces tablets also App Shop, which only applications being introduced into by the company are tested and approved. The ThinkPad should be in september in the Netherlands are available and depending on the configuration between 459 and 629 euros in costs. Both IdeaPads are not coming soon to the Netherlands.
