Japanese get a probe after five years back on course towards Venus

The Japanese space agency Jaxa has in 2010 launched spacecraft after five years back on course. The probe was end of 2010 when Venus should arrive, but that failed. About a couple of months should now be able to make it.

After the launch seemed Akatsuki is on course to Venus, but then threw problems with the engine a spanner in the works in the reach of Venus. Since that time Akatsuki in orbit around the sun, but Jaxa has several do tried to carry through to the probe in the direction of Venus. The last major change found last month, according to Jaxa.

Akatsuki needs the atmosphere and surface of Venus and investigate. It is not the first mission of a space agency to Venus. For example, the European space agency’s Venus Express. Mankind sends several decades every now and then, space probes to the planet.

Render of Akatsuki close to Venus. This should be about a half of reality, although it is unknown whether the probe is a selfiestick in order that memorable moment to capture.
