JailbreakMe.com within a week, 1.4 million time

Approximately 1.4 million iOS users have in the past week their iOS device gejailbreakt via JailbreakMe.com, where iPhones, iPods and iPads in a simple way to crack. The stats come from the developer of the jailbreak.

The jailbreak is on 1.4 million devices managed, reports developer Comex, via Twitter. The stats are not collected via Google Analytics, but via the server where the images are. That images are only displayed if the exploit actually was successful.

Of the 1.4 million jailbreaks that have been carried out, almost half of the iPads: 684.000. Some 535.000 time was JailbreakMe from iPhone 4 or iPod touch 4th Gen, also 2010 published. On older iPhones the jailbreak 135,000 to time. The large number of iPads is partly explained by the fact that it is the first jailbreak on the iPad 2 works.

Comex discovered rather a pdf vulnerability in iOS 4, the first version of JailbreakMe used. Apple closed that leak soon after the discovery. The manufacturer will also now supposedly a fix release for the leak, though it is not clear when updates become available.
