Mark Turmell, the creator of the NBA Jam franchise, get over from Electronic Arts to Zynga. Turmell has worked since 2009 for EA Sports, where he contributed to the return of NBA Jam in 2010 and was re-released.
Turmell is the latest in a row of workers in the last months, left EA Tiburon, the studio where Madden and NCAA Football to be developed, so reports Kotaku. In June left also the executive producer and the creative director of the studio. The reason why Turmell, EA trades for Zynga is not known. In a statement, EA know the contribution of Turmell within Tiburon and EA Sports to appreciate and give him a lot of success to wish for in the future.
Zynga develops mainly social games. The company from San Francisco is responsible for a number of the biggest social games, like FarmVille, CityVille and Mafia Wars. The company is getting ready for an ipo that a billion dollars must be earned, reported Reuters earlier that the actual amount that Zynga’s ipo could earn is likely to be between 1.5 and 2 billion dollars.
The transition from Turmell comes at a remarkable time. Electronic Arts made Wednesday announced the company PopCap. That company focuses as well as Zynga on the development and publishing of mobile and social games. Turmell get thus to one of EA’s newest competitors.
