Microsoft has earlier this week announced that the recently acquired voip service Skype to its Office 365 software want to add. This should be the communication between cooperating colleagues, simplify.
Microsoft executive Kurt DelBene has said that Skype with the already existing Lync functionality in Office 365 should be integrated. With Lync it is possible to communicate via voice, video, and chat, and there is a lot of overlap between Lync and Skype.
Office 365 is a cloud-based, intended to allow real-time together on documents. This is possible with the Office software, but also from the web browser. The service competes with Google Docs and is available for business customers, who are per-user and per month have to pay. According to DelBene, users should be able to see whether the person is working are actually available: the Lync and Skype software must, therefore, status updates that are based on the calendar of the person.
