Intel has a new hexacore-cpu ge lwa introduced based on the Westmere architecture. The Core i7 980 is 32nm fried and has a clock speed of 3.33 GHz. The new cpu must be the slightly slower Core i7 970 to replace.
Apart from the increase in clock speed is the cpu similar to the i7 970. The processor has six physical cores, 12MB of L3 cache, and uses a socket 1366 socket. The maximum turbo speed is probably at 3.6 GHz. The official suggested retail price is 583 dollars, and in Dutch webshops is the cpu popped up with prices just under 500 euros.
